lyrics
Skylight above me, the lifeline protect me
The light surrounds me and the darkness binds me
Which way is forwards and where have I, have I come?
Will I fall? Will I crawl? Will you leave again?
Walking I listen to the winds
The spirits within, my whispering friends
I See a man old and white
I will fall, I will crawl, will you will leave again?
I see a hole
I see a hole inside
Fateful dripping bark
Behold the tree of life
Inside the tree
Darkness befallen me
Inside the tree
I can no longer see
This hole is dark
The air is cold and damp
There’s a flickering light
I’ll follow my only sight
Hollow faces inside
Hollow faces inside these walls
Hooded figures surround
Hooded figures surrounding me
Awakening out of this sleep I can now remember
I am the one they call master, sole protector
I am the one they call upon
Wolf tracks in the dust behind me
I am God, Lord of this Forest I’ll remain

Not only are these guys rad buds but they are also one of Vancouvers best. This self titled EP is full of tasty guitar noodles, crushing heaviness, scary vocals, and is delivered with tight precision. BUSHWHACKER
Another west coast ripper, Vancouver's Black Wizard always delivers the tastiest tunes. Recently signed to Listenable records they released "New Waste". Do your brain a favour and give it a listen. BUSHWHACKER
With all respect due to Nick DiSalvo, who is incredibly talented, the proggy vocals are not what I love the most with Elder. What I love the most, I'll admit, is the incredible synthy, krauty goodness, from the track Sonntag on the previous album to the wonderful delving LP Hirschbrunnen. I think these instrumental Sessions were a major step in that direction, and I love them dearly for it. Coraxio
An eclectic but incredibly well-integrated blend of traditional death metal, melodeath, black metal, progressive, and even a bit of folk (with the added bonus of audible and tasty bass guitar). The album has a consistent, pulverizing momentum punctuated by the rare acoustic passage or catchy chorus/refrain. Overall an unbelievably mature first offering from an up-and-coming band to watch.
